EEC COMMISSION CONSIDERS EXTENSION TO ANTI-DUMPING DUTIES ON JAPANESE PRODUCTS

The EEC Commission is considering extending anti-dumping duties on Japanese products – electronic typewriters, copiers – to the subassemblies imported to the European assembly plants set up by Japanese firms to get round the duties: the Commission says that many of these operations are assembly only and involve no local manufacture.
