Electronic Data Systems Corp of Dallas has won a nine year, UKP8m contract from Cummins Engine Company Ltd for facilities management, as well as a five year systems management contract from Heineken Nederland BV: EDS has been working with Cummins over the past 18 months and the contract involves taking responsibility for mainframe and data communications for Cummins’ UK operations as well as providing additional data processing capacity for Cummins’ engine building programme; meanwhile, EDS will be reaching the parts which no other company can reach, by taking over Heineken’s mainframe activities and integrating them into the EDS Information Processing Centre in Spijkenisse, the Netherlands.
