The original five-year contract, known as ATF Enterprise Standard Architecture III, was signed in 2003 to the tune of $300m. The new two-year extension takes the deal through December 2010, EDS said in a release.

EDS supports about 7,000 ATF desktops through the contract. They’ll be updated next year to be Vista-ready, EDS said. It also covers application server management, messaging, peripheral devices, LAN management, security, help desk, and disaster recovery. EDS will handle IT acquisition for the ATF, partnering with Sun and EMC to provide certain products and services.
