The ATLAS Consortium, as the team is known, includes EDS operating in a prime contractor role, with Fujitsu Services as a tier-one partner and General Dynamics, EADS Defence and LogicaCMG as tier-two vendors.

Following the first phase of the contract, the MoD awarded a component the of second phase of the contract in December 2006 to ATLAS to continues and expands the work the first stage and covers work for the agency’s fixed environment, including infrastructure services, workstations, laptops, additional hardware, and software. This contract was worth an additional $1.27bn.

Now this deal, which is officially called Increment 2b, will bring infrastructure services to the UK’s military deployments. The deal will operate on a Secret classification level. IT includes 3,300 user devices, 1,900 of which are either land- and sea-based, EDS said. Increment 2c of the contract covers Above Secret classifications.

The new deal brings the total estimated contract value to $5.76bn.
