Electronic Data Systems Corp is suing Computer Associates International Inc, charging the Garden City, New York software giant with breach of contract and misuse of copyright: the complaints include suggestions that the company failed to provide software and maintenance under licensing agreements and sought payments for things that were provided in the licence agreements; Computer Associates responds by saying the claims are wholly without merit and represent an attempt to cover up a long-standing intentional course of wrongful conduct by the General Motors Corp subsidiary in derogation of the rights of itself and other software companies; it says it will not only defend itself against these contrived claims but will also seek, among other things, actual damages amounting at present to hundreds of millions of dollars and court protection against continuing violations of its rights.
