Electronic Data Systems Corp chief Lester Alberthal said the company was extraordinarily pleased with its purchase of Databank New Zealand, now EDS (New Zealand) Ltd, five months ago and is looking for more acquisitions and growth; Databank was one of the largest data processing companies in New Zealand, and the Dallas company is now considering buying another similar sized data processing company, GCS Ltd, from the government; bids for GCS must be submitted by October 28 and the company was being analysed and looked at, Alberthal declared; he also said that his company was still exploring the possibility of an alliance with a telecommunications company following the break-off in June of merger talks with Sprint Corp; so far, it has not found one that makes sense, but is still working with Sprint on some projects and the possibility of linking up with Sprint at some future time is not out of the question, he added.
