A second General Motors Corp unit, the Truck & Bus Group, has signed a long-term contract with GM’s Electronic Data Systems unit, giving the computer services company $950m of work over five years on what are expected to be pre-tax margins of 13% to 14%: short-term ad hoc contracts from GM units have been one of the big bones of contention between EDS and its parent company; as previously reported, it was in February that EDS was awarded its first long-term contract from a GM unit – valued at $700m and placed by General Motors Acceptance Corp.
