Electronic Data Systems Corp’s EDS France has passed its activity in payroll and personnel applications development to French systems developer Generale de Service en Informatique SA. Under the partnership agreement, EDS transfers development of the Gesper packahe and associated personnel to GSI, which also takes over customer support. EDS will continue to serve clients in the personnel field for systems integration, management and consulting, but will rely on GSI’s skills in applications development, which it does not consider to be a core competency. Gesper was developed by SPI, the Pechiney SA unit EDS acquired to enter France in 1986.
