By CBR Staff Writer

Electronic Data Systems Corp has now completed – on undisclosed terms – the acquisition of McDonnell Douglas Systems Integration Co announced in August, at which time it was said that the business was doing about $100m a year: included in the purchase are Shape Data Ltd in Cambridge, UK, and Graphics Design Systems Ltd, including Applied Research of Cambridge Ltd UK research and development base; the General Motors Corp unit gets 2,300 employees, including 600 in Europe and the Far East, 277 of them here in the UK, implying that the business is doing a lowly $43,500 per employee, but software’s like that.
