The Italian business weekly paper Il Mondo has revealed that US outsourcing giant EDS Corp is to buy a 2% stake in Banca di Roma, Italy’s second largest bank, for $92m. In exchange, EDS will get a ten-year outsourcing contract to manage the bank’s computer systems, worth an estimated $1.7bn. EDS turned over $3.7bn in its last quarter.
