Services giant Electronic Data Systems Corp has acquired Irvine, California-based Advanced Computing Inc, which provides warranty management, registration and entitlement, repair management, and fulfillment services for the PC industry. Advanced Computing, a privately-held company which has been providing its services to PC manufacturers for 11 years, will continue to operate within EDS under its existing name and its CEO Mark Lewis will keep his current job. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. EDS says it will add ACI’s services to its Enterprise Customer Management offerings, which already include direct marketing, call center and distribution services. ACI’s existing clients include AST, Canon, Compaq Services, Fujitsu, and Toshiba America Information Systems.
