Reports in September suggested that EDS executive Deepak Patel would get the post, ousting Rao from the company, but Patel was recently installed as COO of EDS India.
EDS announced the acquisition of a majority stake in the offshore IT services provider in April, increasing its stake to 62% in July. The acquisition boosted its headcount in India from 3,000 to 14,000, and it plans to increase this to between 25,000 and 30,000 by 2008.
