Advant-e, through its wholly owned operating subsidiaries Edict Systems and Merkur Group, has launched a jointly developed Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) integration and trading partner connectivity product for Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise software.

Edict Systems is a provider of internet-based EDI products, enabling companies to connect, integrate, manage, validate and expand supply chain trading communities. Merkur Group is a provider of PeopleSoft integrated fax and e-mail products which allows customers to send and receive documents from within PeopleSoft.

Merkur’s PeopleSoft connector provides delivery of purchase order data to Edict’s EnterpriseEC for translation into EDI data and delivery via AS2, Secure FTP, or via traditional value added networks. The connector also provides visibility of delivered transactions within PeopleSoft and insertion of received transactions into PeopleSoft via Integration Broker.

In addition to providing data translation and delivery via EnterpriseEC, Edict’s SaaS EDI products include: Supplier On-boarding, hub & spoke ramping services which include testing and certification services for EDI-capable suppliers combined with Edict’s web-based product for small and medium-size suppliers provides for supplier participation; and real-time data validation through ValidateEC, a hosted product that provides an external business rule engine to assure that data integrity is maintained and only the data that meets specific business and technical criteria is passed to internal systems for integration.

These services and products reportedly support business practices by reducing paper-based transactions and the number of errors associated with manual document processing. It also enables PeopleSoft Enterprise users to use internal resources for other IT related projects.

Jason Wadzinski, president and CEO of Advant-e, said: “Many businesses who use PeopleSoft Enterprise need to communicate electronically with their suppliers. The Merkur PeopleSoft connector with Edict’s services helps these buying organisations by providing a full line of outsourced supply chain solutions and services that is fully integrated with PeopleSoft Enterprise.

Our services eliminate the need to invest in costly software and hardware investments in EDI translators and VAN charges while minimising the internal resources expended by our customers to implement a large-scale EDI implementation.”
