The Automobile Insurers Bureau of Massachusetts (AIB) is a private, nonprofit organization representing insurance companies in the setting of automobile insurance rates, rules and forms in the commonwealth of Massachusetts. It has engaged Edgewater to provide expertise in technical architecture design, project management and business analysis to support the migration of two mainframe systems to a web-based application running on a server-based platform.
Edgewater will be working closely with AIB’s project team on the development of the new environment and assisting with training. Edgewater will also establish hardware and software requirements.
As the insurance space continually becomes more and more competitive, it is apparent that we must be able to provide our staff, members and partners with more robust capabilities in order to better service the Massachusetts insurance industry. By migrating our existing mainframe systems to a more accessible, web-based application, we can not only provide internal resources with a more cost-effective solution to conduct business for us, but also support our customers and partners as well, stated Tom Simon, vice president of operations at AIB.
