The secure internet site will require a unique username and password, allowing students to log in and find out their results on the morning they are released.
The online project will be tested by hundreds of students on the forthcoming A-level results day on August 17, 2006, and two weeks later for GCSEs.
The scheme is not the first of its kind – last year the Scottish Qualifications Authority used text messages for results distribution to 60 students in remote parts of the country.
