EDELMAN $60m DATAPOINT BID

Asher Edelman and his cohorts have decided to have another go at taking San Antonio-based Datapoint Corp private with an offer of $6 a share, $60m all told, against a price in the market of $4.875. In the bidding group are CitiCorp Capital investment Ltd and KBA Partners LP, and general partner at the latter, Richard Black will become co-chairman with Edelman if the bid is successful; the board is silent.
