EDA Systems Inc, the Santa Clara company formed by former Mentor Graphics staffers, has settled its differences with its erstwhile mentor: the injunction against employing three former staff and the demand for $18m damages have been dropped, and EDA has agreed to make available, with no legal implication, its publicly available user manual for a Mentor expert’s non-binding review; EDA agreed not to hire certain Mentor technical personnel in exchange for a contractual right to hire Mentor’s other personnel, including salespeople.
