ECONOCOM TO MARKET PLESSEY ISDX PABX IN NETHERLANDS

IBM mainframe leasing company Econocom International NV is to diversify into private telecommunications products in the Netherlands, and is taking advantage of ending of the Dutch PTT monopoly on the marketing of terminal equipment on January 1 by taking on exclusive distributorship for Holland of Plessey’s ISDX PABX, which passed to the new company on the formation of GEC Plessey Telecommunications Ltd. Econocom has ambitions to sell UKP140m of the PABXs in the first year of the deal and win 15% of the market by 1991.
