Ecessa, a provider of WAN link controllers for small-to-medium sized enterprises (SMEs), has launched the ClariLink-V Series, WAN link controllers for SIP-application management for reliability of VoIP applications over the internet.
Ecessa said that ClariLink-V enables voice and video traffic to be deployed across multiple internet and/or service provider networks for redundant link connectivity to offer automatic real-time failover. It ensures that VoIP calls and video conferencing sessions remain active, even in the case of a service provider outage.
According to Ecessa, ClariLink-V manages any internet connection such as cable, DSL, T1, wireless, satellite to provide redundant SIP origination and termination. It includes internet connection load balancing and failover technology, a SIP Proxy, SIP Registration Server and Network Address Translation (NAT) Proxy that allows SIP traffic to be load balanced and has real-time failover among multiple internet connections.
The company said that ClariLink-V monitors internet connections for latency to ensure minimum standards are enforced and ensures that VoIP applications do not get directed to an internet connection with high latency. It tests all internet connections for latency prior to a call being established, and then directs traffic to the connection with the lowest latency.
In addition, the new offering ensures VoIP call integrity by directing traffic to persist to the correct destination, providing real-time session failover even in the event of an outage. It eliminates the internet connection as a point-of-failure by intelligently directing VoIP traffic among multiple internet connections, Ecessa said.

The family of ClariLink-V WAN Link Controllers will be available in the first quarter of 2010. Depending on the model, pricing ranges from $1095 to $2985.
