Under the deal, Deutsche Telekom subsidiary T-Mobile and UK-based mmO2 will pool base stations, antennae and networks parts, which could save up to $5 billion between them. Having gained German approval, the operators now expect to receive permission to share networks in the UK as well.
T-Mobile and mmO2 agreed to share their infrastructure last year after the German telecoms regulator specified its conditions of approval.
