If anyone was in any doubt that the personal computer market was out of the doldrums and back on the up-and-up, it must have been dispelled by the ebullient cheer emanating from Esther Dyson’s celebrated annual Personal Computer Forum in Phoenix this year: the event, which brings together the creme de la creme of the industry, where Sculleys and Rosens and Kapors rub shoulders with Gates and Roaches, was by all accounts on a high this year, with Ben Rosen predicting double digit growth not just for 1987 but way off into the future.
