EAST AND WEST TO COLLABORATE ON DEMONSTRATION OF THE OPEN SYSTEMS FTAM FOR THE INE

Japenese and European computer manufacturers are to collaborate in a demonstration of the Open Systems FTAM File Transfer Access Method for the Interoperable Networking Event, the first such demonstration to embrace East and West beyond Europe: files will be exchanged between four pairs of suppliers; Bull SA and NEC Corp; Digital Equipment Corp and Mitsubishi Electric Corp; ICL Ltd and Fujitsu Ltd; Ing C Olivetti SpA and Hitachi Ltd.
