Rare Medium Group Inc, the New York-based web design, development and marketing company, has reported a second-quarter net loss of $11.5m on revenue of $5.2m, compared to a loss of $7.3m on revenue of $1.0m in the year-ago period. Excluding one-time items, the loss for the quarter amounted to $0.12 per share. Including a non-cash charge related to the Apollo transaction, net loss applicable to common shareholders was $1.19 per share. The company says it won $15m in new business during the quarter, with the top ten deals averaging roughly $1m each. Headcount grew 126%, or by 110 people, from the prior quarter, while the number of customers rose 280%.
