Infoseek Corp, the Sunnyvale, California-based internet search and portal company, has reported a second-quarter net loss of $56.8m on revenue up 105% at $29.6m, compared to a loss of $1.8m last year. Six-month net loss was $160.9m on revenue up 120% at $59.8m, against a loss of $6.4m last year. Results include merger-related costs totaling $32.7m for the quarter and $118.6m for the six months. Net of those charges, the loss for the quarter amounted to $0.39, $0.02 better than the First Call estimate. The company said daily page views averaged 45 million in the month of March, up from 33 million in December and that Go Network exited the March quarter with 12 million registered users, up from 8 million three months ago. Revenues from the company’s software division, meanwhile, rose from $1.7m to $3.0m year-over-year and accounted for 10% of overall revenue in the quarter.
