Forte Software Inc, the Oakland, California-based application development company, has reported fourth-quarter net income of $122,000, or $0.01 per share, on revenue up 3.1% at $22.5m, compared to a net loss of $2.7m in the year-ago quarter. Results for the quarter included an acquisition-related charge of $1.5m, without which, earnings were $0.08 per share, beating the First Call consensus by $0.02. For the year, net loss was $1.4m on revenue up 11.5% at $79.5m, against a loss of $14.2m last year. License fee revenue increased 18% sequentially to $12.7m, but showed only a 2% rise from the year-ago quarter. Maintenance and services revenue increased 4% year-over-year to $9.8m.
