Descartes Systems Group Inc, the Waterloo, Ontario maker of supply chain software has recorded net losses for the second quarter ending July 31 of $6.4m on revenue that fell 13.3% to $9.7m. Net losses for the six months were $14.2m on revenue that slipped 2.2% to $21m.

Peter Schwartz, chairman and CEO, blamed a significant decline in revenues from the enterprise applications market for the revenue slide, but noted that e-business had expanded as a proportion of total revenue and that the company would switch focus to concentrate on this new market. Descartes’ software license revenue dropped off by 28.4%, while services revenue rose 45.4%.
