Cypress Semiconductor Corp, San Jose-based maker of memory chips and programmable logic devices, has reported third-quarter net income of $26.4m on revenue up 28.3% at $184.5m, compared to net income of $1.8m in the year-ago quarter. Earnings per share rose to $0.23 from $0.02 and, excluding $1.9m in acquisition-related charges, came in at $0.24. Analysts surveyed by First Call were expecting $0.21 in earnings for the quarter. For the nine-month period, net income was $43.6m, or $0.40 per share, on revenue up 21.6% at $497.6m, against a net loss of $116.9m last year. Nine- month results include net one-time charges of $7.9m, while year- ago results include a restructuring charge of $60.7m.
