Vitria Technology Inc says that part of the reason it is touting a new version of its BusinessWare EAI enterprise application integration software for quickly connecting simple applications is the market’s current attraction to low-tech solutions. The likes of CrossWorlds, Active Software and even EAI newbie Forte Software are victims of the market’s current pendulum swing from very high-tech solutions to non-technical solutions for integration problems. All three rely on very high-tech solutions. Vitria believes that CrossWorlds in particular is still trying to integrate the home-grown and third party components of its suite and says it currently doesn’t so much model application and business processes as basic data synchronization. It thinks it’s also short of reference sites.
