Stamps.com Inc may have netted itself a deal with Microsoft Corp back in August 1999, but Ellen Perelman, senior director of marketing at rival E-Stamp Inc, says her own company’s new deal with Microsoft is an even better one. Perelman told ComputerWire that E-Stamp and Microsoft have enjoyed an ongoing strategic relationship since 1997, that Microsoft has invested in three private rounds of funding in E-Stamp and that the Redmond software giant currently holds a board seat. Stamps.com has some banner ads on the Microsoft Office web site, Perelman explained: We are the premier provider of internet postage to Microsoft’s small and medium enterprise customers. Microsoft and E-Stamp will also collaborate on a co-branded micro-site. Take that, Stamps.com!
