The first was awarded to DTS by the Naval Undersea Warfare Center. It is a five-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, worth up

to $35 million.

Under the contract DTS will develop submarine platform systems and other related ship-board weapons systems for SEAWOLF, a non-propulsion electronics and Virginia class submarine Command, Control,Communications and Intelligence Systems (C3I). DTS was one of only three contractors selected for this program. DTS heads a team comprised of industry leaders including Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, CSC and General Physics, among others. According to DTS President Ben Medley, the DynCorp team will provide upfront engineering services, maintenance and training, as well as software development for all SEAWOLF non-propulsion electronics and fast attack submarines.

The second is a subcontract that was awarded to DTS by BAE Systems under BAE’s own prime contract with NAVSEA. Under the subcontract DTS will focus primarily on maintenance and upgrades to existing undersea warfare systems, high level engineering design and concept development for new systems such as torpedoes, mines and sonar systems. This is an exciting opportunity for DTS to demonstrate its outstanding capabilities both in designing and developing state-of-the-art warfare systems, said Medley. As one of the leading systems engineering providers, we are looking forward to developing a long and productive relationship with NAVSEA. Medley added that DTS currently provides engineering services for NAVSEA’s surface sonar systems. The BAE contract under which DTS received the subcontract award is one of 21 prime contracts for this program, with a total estimated value of $14.5 billion over a five-year base period and two five-year option periods.
