Overall, 78% of people that paid for services were satisfied with i-mode, and 87% have been taking advantage of i-mail. The survey was conducted to establish the initial reactions to the service and also to help to create a better understanding of the i-mode market.

Most i-mode customers were found to be between the ages of 20 and 35 with most clients using the services for recreational or private purposes. Only 18% have been using it as a corporate tool. This, and other information should help content providers tailor their services effectively. By the end of July 2002, there are expected to be approximately 80 content providers.
