Duros has updated its 1205-PS fixed-mount, rugged computer, with an Intel Core Duo 1.6GHz processor, doubled the RAM to 2GB and two additional USB ports.

The upgraded Duros 1205-PS can integrate video and run Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) software. It also integrates CPU, display, power supply and connection ports into a single unit.

According to Duros, the 1205-PS features an ultra-thin design, allowing for flush dashboard mounting that is clear of airbag zones and limits intrusion into cabin space. The SVGA display features a wide, 120-degree viewing angle and can be activated by pointing devices, including a gloved or ungloved finger.

In addition, 1,000-nit, sunlight-viewable display features blanking and full dimming for times when displayed information is proprietary.

The company claims that its upgraded 1205-PS is designed to meet the needs of police, security, EMS and fire applications. With multiple options for RAM, HDD, processors, keyboard and radio connectivity, it can be configured to meet an organisation’s specific needs.

Eric Miller, general manager of Duros, said: When lives and safety are at stake, first responders must have equipment that works. The Duros 1205-PS already was rugged enough to perform under the most challenging conditions. Now it is faster and has more memory, giving first responders ready access to additional tools and resources to better perform their jobs.

Duros 1205-PS can be upgraded to stay current with advancing technology and comes with a five-year warranty.
