DSS has unveiled vxVistA.org second generation, the new version of its open source collaboration environment, which features new tools available to the vxVistA open source collaboration community that enhance the site’s management and development functionalities.

DSS said that its new offering provides vxVistA developers with free access to Atlassian and other third-party toolsets that help manage projects, build diagrams, track coding issues and more.

The company claimed that with the new toolset, community members will be able to start with an idea, collaborate on the development of the idea, design GUI Mockups, generate discussions about the concept, transfer those ideas to flow diagrams, track bugs generated during the development, and apply Agile Project Management framework.

Mark Byers, president and CEO of DSS, said: "We utilise these new tools for internal open source projects and know they will be of great value to the vxVistA open source community.

"vxVistA.org Second Generation is the first step towards empowering our community with the means to effectively manage projects like implementations and software development."

The company said to begin the process of developing the third generation, which will emphasise on code development and management.
