DSC COMMUNICATIONS LAUNCHES THE NEXOS FAMILY

DSC Communications Corp’s Weybridge based European subsidiary DSC Nestar this week launched its Nexos family of local area network software and hardware products to run under Novell Netware: the range comprises the Nex/Os operating system, an 80386 file server, a variety of networking communication gateways, interface cards, and 80286 workstations; the company claims that Nexos matches the security and fault tolerance features of its competitors and is 43% cheaper than the equivalent version of Novell Netware currently available in the UK; list prices for the Nex/Os, Nex/Server, Nex/Link interface card and Nex/TCP gateway available now – are from UKP1,095, UKP10,500, UKP195 and UKP350 respectively, with SNA, X25 gateways and an OS/2 system for later this year.
