Dropbox has opened its first UK offices in Fitzrovia, London, appointing Mark Van der Linden as UK Country Manager. The move comes as part of Dropbox’s growing global expansion.

Currently the company’s UK growth is surpassing its growth in the US, which has seen the number of UK companies paying for Dropbox for Business more than double in the past year. Further data reveals that 1 in 4 internet users in the UK currently use Dropbox.

Dropbox has estimated that 5 million UK companies will be using at least one cloud service by this time next year.

Mark Van der Linden will be Dropbox’s first UK Country Manager, joining from Google where he led Google for Work in the UK and Benelux.

Currently Dropbox is used by 300 million users worldwide, with 120 million in Europe. Dropbox for Business has over 100,000 paying customers.
