Dr Ing Rudolf Hell GmbH, Kiel, West Germany is suing the Optronics Inc division of Intergraph Corp alleging infringement of Hell’s patent entitled Method For the Electro-Optical Reproduction of Half-Tone Pictures: the patent relates to colour separation recorders used in the printing and graphic arts industries and the suit seeks monetary damages and injunctive relief: Hell says it offered to license Optronics to use the patented screening technology on what is believed to be reasonable terms and conditions and regrets that refusal to accept such terms made the suit necessary.
