DOWN THE DRAIN

Been down the Drain lately? Travellers on the quaint little underground railway link between Waterloo Station and the City of London will have found themselves regaled with saturation advertising from Tandem UK Ltd, no doubt persuading many of the Big Bangers with money to spend urgently on new computer systems that the Cupertino company’s machines – as NonStop as the Drain are a force to be reckoned with: what they won’t have known is that the saturation advertising idea came from a New York bank that needed to impress a potential high roller; it figured out the route of the guy’s daily journey to work and bought up all the billboard sites along the way for as long as it took to impress him with the bank’s ubiquity – and clinch the deal.
