DOMINO PIZZA GETS TOUGH OVER WEB SERVER NAME AND SLOGAN

By CBR Staff Writer

IBM Corp’s Domino Web server version of Lotus Notes, which has been shipping as version 1.0 since July of last year and has now gone into beta testing for the 1.5 version, has run into naming trouble. The name has upset fast food vendor Domino Pizza Inc, which has instructed its lawyers to prevent IBM’s use of the name. Particularly upsetting for Domino is IBM’s use of the phrase ‘Domino delivers’, which, along with logo, is similar to one of the pizza company’s catchphrases.
