Dixons buys Genesis for E50 million

UK electrical retailer Dixons Group has purchased Direct Telephone Services. Dixons paid E49.8 million for the mobile services reseller, which trades as Genesis Communications.

Genesis is a licensed reseller primarily of Vodafone and O2 mobile phone services. It sells contracts over the phone to SME customers.

The purchase is the latest move by Dixons to expand its business into the mobile phone market. Following its latest purchase, the retailer now provides a full range of IT and telecoms services and products to businesses.
