Infoseek Corp has announced three nominees to its board of directors. They are Robert Iger, president of ABC Inc, Steven Bornstein, president of ESPN Inc and Jake Winebaum, chair of Buena Vista Internet Group. The appointments come in the wake of the complex transaction in June which saw The Walt Disney Company hand over its stake in web design firm Starwave Inc plus $70 million cash in exchange for a 43% stake in Infoseek. ABC, ESPN and Buena Vista are also Disney properties. The intertwined companies plan to launch a new portal, to be called Go Network, sometime later this year (CI No 3,500).
