DIP Systems Ltd, the Guildford, Surrey-based designers of the Atari Portfolio, have released a new portable computer: the Pocket PC Executive is packaged in a Filofax with a QWERTY keyboard, 384Kb of on-board memory, a removable memory card, batteries, and AC adaptor; the software includes a range of financial applications, a Lotus 1-2-3-compatible spreadsheet, and a text processor; there are parallel and serial interfaces and an optional modem for remote communications over a telephone line; there is also a software package called the Pocket Mac which will run on any Apple Macintosh and allows the transfer of files via a serial connection; in addition, there is a version of the Pocket PC for Macintosh users comprising a computer, serial connection, Mac application software, and a 128Kb memory card; the PC Executive costs UKP300, the modem is UKP200, and the Macintosh Pocket PC Professional is UKP430.
