DIGITAL RESEARCH WINS CONTRACT FOR ITS NEW FLEXOS 286 FROM REUTERS

By CBR Staff Writer

Digital Research Inc has won a very valuable reference contract for its new Flexos 286 real-time operating system in the shape of an agreement from Reuters Ltd, which wants to use the thing on its New Pictures Terminal for newspapers receiving wire photographs: the terminal is based on an AT-alike, and the real time multitasking skills of Flexos enable pictures to be received simultaneously from up to three sources while at the same time running the front-end user interface program; up to 120 pictures can be stored on disk at any one time.
