Atlanta, Georgia-based Digital Communications Associates Inc has announced OpenMind, which it says is a client-server-based application that enables users to exchange ideas, share files, blend internal data with external information and manage enterprise data. Protocol support claimed includes IPX/SPX, NetBEUI, TCP/IP, NetBIOS and AppleTalk. OpenMind can support thousands of users without additional programming and has client software based on Microsoft Windows 3.1 and Macintosh. With a WindowsNT-based server, OpenMind is a 32-bit, multi-threaded client-server application with automatic replication among distributed servers, the firm says. Prices given are per user licence. The starter Kit for server and five clients is UKP800, and the Server pack is UKP800. For Windows User Clients: single, UKP240; Ten user, UKP230; 50 user, UKP220; and 100 user, UKP180.
