IBM is claiming victory over the European Leasers and Traders Association in Germany last week (CI No 675): according to IBM, the German cartel office has found that the complaints of the leasing companies were unfounded and that IBM Germany’s practices are fair and within applicable laws; ECLAT, on the other hand, says it has withdrawn its case concerning discrimination against leasers over volume purchase agreements to pursue non-legalistic avenues of solving its differences with IBM.
