The agreement will cover more than 3,000 kiosks DVDPlay plans to have installed by the end of 2007. Diebold technicians will be dispatched from Diebold service centers across the US to address installation, service and repair issues.

The DVDPlay kiosks under the agreement are installed in supermarkets and high-traffic retail locations throughout North America. They feature patent-pending software that enables dynamic pricing, promotion, inventory management, advertising and movie trailer insertions while capturing key business metrics.

The kiosks enable consumers to rent DVDs through an interface resembling an online checkout. They feature an inventory of DVDs that is updated every week with the latest releases.

This agreement represents a significant development for Diebold premier services, said Chuck Ducey, Diebold’s senior vice president of global development and services. The retail market for DVDPlay kiosks is growing very rapidly because this technology is quickly being adopted by consumers. Installation and maintenance needs for these kiosks closely match Diebold’s ATM service model, so we are well-positioned to provide these services.
