Diebold, a global provider of integrated financial self-service delivery, has been awarded a contract from the State Bank of India (SBI), for an additional 1,750 automated teller machines (ATMs) and cash dispensers (CDs). This contract is an addition to the earlier order of 2,740 ATMs from SBI, taking the total number of orders to 4,490 ATMs. Moreover, the contract also includes site implementation services.

Reportedly, Diebold will provide SBI with ATM model Diebold 450 and cash dispenser Diebold 422, designed for the Indian market. Diebold’s terminals features include: Agilis XV 91X software, 15-inch touch screens with function keys; head phone jacks and speakers for voice guidance to enable interactive transactions for the visually-impaired.

According to the company, the ATMs also features an integrated digital video recorders (DVRs) for image storage to improve security and customer experience. It has added that with an optional bar code and biometric reader, Diebold 422 is equipped with a UL 291-rated safe that provides safety in the case of a burglar attack.
