Shipping management software provider Kewill will supply the manufacturer with Kewill Flagship, a multi-carrier shipping management system and Kewill Compliance Partner, a browser-enabled application. Kewill says both shipping solutions will integrate with Dickey-john’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) system from Oracle.
According to the software vendor, users of Kewill Flagship at the Dickey-John warehouse will access the system from within an Oracle database that holds the customer order information. Once the carrier and shipment terms are selected, Kewill Flagship will produce the shipping label and send tracking information back to Oracle for reporting and customer communication. The Kewill Compliance Partner is claimed to automate and ensure the accuracy of the company’s fulfillment process from order entry to rating, label and manifest generation.
Rod Sturgeon, Dickey-John project manager, said, After conducting an ‘order-to-cash’ process review at Dickey-john, we discovered a significant need for efficiency improvement in our shipping operations. We were using multiple systems for different carriers – one for UPS, one for FedEx, one for DHL and the packing of our shipments lacked the 100% accuracy we desired. We selected Kewill because they offered the most comprehensive shipping solution on the market and they were practiced in integrating with Oracle.
