Blackburn, Lancshire-based Standard Platforms Holdings Plc has won a UKP350,000 contract from DHL Worldwide Express to supply an optical storage system based on its DocuFile optical file server software: it will be used to update DHL’s proof of collection documentation system; central to operations will be the Unix Docufile running on a Hewlett-Packard Co HP9000 server; data collection will be handled by three scan stations with local optical disks and a 170 slot multiple optical disk jukebox will provide on-line retrieval of the previous four months’ shipments; installation will start this month and be completed in the New Year.
