Data General Corp’s SEC filing shows revenue from sales of its AviiON servers was $131.4m in its June quarter, down from $131.1m in the same period last year. While Intel-based AViiON revenue increased 41%, the older Motorola-based line declined 71% over the same period last year. CLARiiON storage revenue was down 31% and accounted for 38% of total product revenue in the quarter. Revenue from personal computers and other equipment declined 36% and was 6% of total product revenue, down from 9% last time. DG’s Valiiant contract manufacturing business represented was 4% of total product revenues. In its two 1994 lawsuits against IBM Corp, Big Blue denies its AS/400 infringes DG patents and has counter claimed that Clariion infringes IBM patents.
