IBM Data Facility Data Set Services Version 2 Release 5 is designed for high-speed data movement, and supports the 3480 Magnetic Tape Subsystem improved data recording capability feature announced in May. It also supports partitioned data set extended, and is a data mover for Data Facility Hierarchical Storage Manager Version 2 Release 5. Enhancements allow for more efficient use of disk storage, and provide security with the Resource Access Control Facility during restore and virtual storage constraint relief. It will be available from December 29, 1989 at a monthly licence charge of $264; alternative one-time charge for processor groups 18, 20, and 30 is $7,935. Group 40 has a one-time cost of $12,690, and group 50 is $16,380. – Janice McGinn
